Bob Baffert is to be represented at the Dubai World Cup this year after he accepted an invitation for Game On Dude to participate in the world’s richest race. The four year old was the controversial winner of the $750,000 Santa Anita Handicap ten days ago when he survived a Stewards Inquiry after touching off Setsuko. After the race Baffert said: “He came out of it great, the race didn't take anything out of him. I know the mile and a quarter won't be a problem.”
Baffert won the World Cup twice at Nad Al Sheba with Silver Charm (1998) and Captain Steve (2001).
He is to be ridden by Chantal Sutherland who will add a bit of extra glamour to World Cup night. She has been featured in Sports Illustrated and had a four-page spread in Vogue magazine. As well, she was chosen as one of People magazine's "100 Most Beautiful People.” She has also modeled and owns a pilot's license. So watch out those in the Jaguar Style Stakes there is a professional in town aiming for a unique double.
